Population growth and urban centralization lead to increased demand for real estate market and for food. One possible solution is vertical farming.
As in many other major metropolises of the world the urban centralization, the internal development, the increased housing demand, are contributing to the modernization of the system. The best way to increase the lack of building area in the cities centre is to develop the vertical skyline with the construction of new skyscrapers. The comparison with these new realities and the stimulus received by the challenge to participate to this change will be the focus of this competition.
The population growth and the urban centralization lead to an increase of the demand in the real estate market and in the food. One possible solution is the vertical farming. For these reasons, AWR proposes the design of a new skyscraper on the Thames waterfront. The new tower will be inserted into the new city skyline. Vertical Farming: architecture and nature work together.
